The Western Last Chance Qualifier concluded during the weekend and the last two representatives of the region for the upcoming regional finals were decided following an intense 2-day event. BriksTN and TexSummers managed to take down their opposition and finish first and second during the last day of the event, giving them the last two spots for the upcoming Dragonlands World Championship.
Event recap
The tournament began with 2 players from NA, 2 from EMEA, 2 from Brazil, and 2 from LATAM. These 8 players had a tough task ahead in order to qualify for the Dragonlands World Championship.
After the first two rounds, Briks and Texsummers managed to take the lead with 13 and 10 points respectively. After two more rounds, Briks maintained his first-place standing while Texsummers fell to third place after being overpassed by Brazil's BES Toddy.
Texsummers managed to bounce back in the last two rounds after a 3rd and 1st place finishes, ending the tournament with 34 points, the same amount of points as Bricks, who finished first.
The highest-represented compositions all had Dragons and this is most likely going to be the case going into the upcoming Dragonlands World Championship. The tournament will take place during the following weekend with the 32 best players across the world battling for the title of Dragonlands World Champion and a share of the $456,000 prize pool.
